Open the full move reference before a run

  1. Open the original game and enter your existing session.
  2. Choose Play to open The League.
  3. Select an available partner and find Passive & kit.
  4. Choose See all its moves below the four signature attacks. Scroll the League panel if the button is below the screen.
  5. Read each group’s explanation, level labels and available League members before choosing a run.

The main profile is a compact introduction. Its full move panel explains a larger pool, so a move missing from the four-card summary is not automatically unavailable. Our Squirtle panel listed 38 potential moves, including locked entries from members not yet in this Guest’s League. That count describes this checked panel, not a universal roster size.

Three groups explain where an offer comes from

Groups shown in Squirtle’s v0.6.3 move reference
GroupWhat the panel saysWhat to check
Own kitFour signature attacks, offered more often from their listed levelsThe Starter or level label on each card
From its evolution lineA random eligible move can appear on level-up; a free slot is requiredLevel requirement and remaining move capacity
Other members’ kitsLeague members sharing a type teach attacks of that shared type or Normal typeWhich members have actually joined your League

These groups describe different routes into the move pool. They do not mean every eligible attack will be offered on your next level-up. Compare the current panel with your own League rather than copying a screenshot from an account with more members.

Squirtle example: levels are eligibility labels

Squirtle’s signature move labels, read in v0.6.3
MoveListed availabilityType / category / shape
Water GunStarterWater / Special / Projectile
BubbleLv. 2Water / Special / Burst
Rapid SpinLv. 4Normal / Physical / Spin
Hydro PumpLv. 7Water / Special / Bolt

In our earlier short Squirtle run, the first level-up offered Bubble beside a Water Gun improvement and X Defense. We chose Bubble and saw it added to the move bar. That confirms one early offer and choice; it does not turn the full table into a guaranteed sequence for every run.

The evolution-line section separately listed Tackle and Bite from the start, Water Pulse from Lv. 2, Rain Dance from Lv. 5, Aqua Tail from Lv. 6, Shell Smash from Lv. 7 and Wave Crash from Lv. 10. Those are move-availability labels. They are not the levels at which Squirtle itself evolves.

Shared kits depend on your League

The reference says League members that share a type with your partner teach their attacks of that shared type or of Normal type. This is more specific than copying every move from every owned Pokémon. Read the shared-type wording and the member list for the partner you have selected.

Our Guest had only Squirtle in its League. The panel therefore said that no other member taught it a move yet and kept 27 further moves locked until the relevant members joined. Seeing those locked entries is not the same as having them in the current level-up pool.

This helps explain why two players using the same starter may have different references. Check League membership as well as partner, level and version. We have not recruited a second member to test the before-and-after offer pool, so no particular cross-Pokémon combination is presented as a tested build.

Match bonuses to the move you actually use

Read the move’s type, damage category and attack shape separately. Water Gun is Water and Special, while Rapid Spin is Normal and Physical. A Water-type bonus, a special-damage bonus and a projectile effect describe different conditions; a Water starter does not make every move in its kit Water or Special.

Our checked item reference describes Mystic Water as a Water-move bonus, Wise Glasses as special damage and Muscle Band as physical damage. Use those labels to identify the part of your kit an item addresses. They do not by themselves establish the final damage formula or which tradeoff is best.

Vitamins and move upgrades can share a level-up screen, but they are different choices. Read the actual effect offered, then review your moves and stats in the pause panel. A familiar name from another Pokémon game is not a substitute for PokeBonk’s displayed description.

Why has the move not appeared?

  1. Confirm the partner and game version shown in the original game.
  2. Check whether the move belongs to the own-kit, evolution-line or shared-kit group.
  3. Read its level requirement. An eligible move still need not be the next random offer.
  4. For an evolution-line offer, check the free-slot requirement stated by the panel.
  5. For shared kits, check whether the relevant League member has joined and shares the required type.
  6. If an owned move stays at level 1 despite later offers, record the version, move list and upgrade screen for a report. That is a different symptom from a new move not appearing.

The Lab’s 4th move increases move capacity; Fourth option increases the number of level-up choices. They are separate upgrades. Neither description promises a particular move. Read the Lab explanation before spending Stardust.

Community reports about moves staying at level 1 are useful investigation leads, but we have not reproduced a fix. Do not discard a move or end a run solely because an unverified workaround appears in chat. Follow the bug-report checklist with the screen and steps that actually occurred.

Checked on . Checked October 18, 2026 in the original game v0.6.3: Play → The League → Squirtle → See all its moves. This is a reading of the live move-reference panel in a Guest session with one League member. The listed chance and learning rules are attributed to that panel, not measured over repeated runs. Our October 17 Squirtle test separately confirmed choosing Bubble at the first level-up. Shared-kit recruitment, every listed move and an optimized build were not playtested.
